Shawnee Community College puts on two large-scale theatre productions, during the fall and spring semesters, in the new Higher Education Center.  The auditorium/theatre was constructed in 2001, and boasts the latest technology.  

Fall Production

Auditions for the fall production are open to the public usually beginning at age 7 and held the third week of September.  Cast members participate in three rehearsals a week until the last two weeks.  Dress rehearsal week is every night before the show.  Each production has four matinee and two evening performances. Theatre performances are usually about two weeks before Thanksgiving.

Spring Musical

Auditions are usually held a couple of weeks after the semester begins in January.  The Spring Musical cast is open to SCC students, faculty and staff.  Cast members participate in three rehearsals a week until the last two weeks.  Dress rehearsal week is every night before the show.  Each production has four matinee and two evening performances.  The Spring Musical is typically scheduled between Spring Break in March and Easter.
